Scalloped Serving Bowl, SmallThese pieces are made by hand using time honored techniques by Las Mujeres del Barro Rojo, the women of the red clay in San Marcos Tlapazola, outside Oaxaca, Mexico. Zapotec women have for generations walked into the mountains to gather the clay, stones for dye and harvest branches to burn to fire the raw clay into this artful, rustic pottery. Imperfections and variations are to be expected.
